Saturday, November 11th, 2017, Artists For Impact held our first-ever event in Mamaroneck, New York. In a very quick two months of planning, we had found a space to hold our first event in MADE: Art Studio and teamed up with John Monreal, who is the founder of a grassroots organization in Mamaroneck, New York called Futbol For Kids. Futbol For Kids is a registered Non-For-Profit organization that delivers soccer balls, shoes, water filters and solar-powered flashlights to kids and their families in underprivileged communities in Central America, South America, and the Caribbean. Since Thanksgiving was coming close, we also decided to combine a canned food drive to the event.

Our first event included five performances by high school students from Rye Neck, Mamaroneck, and LaGuardia High Schools. Musical performances were by Katelyn Sansotta, Ris Igrec, Ella Rose, and Tiny Brian as well as a spoken word performance by Devin Overend.  By the end of the night, we had raised a total of $465 that went to support Futbol For Kids' trip to Peru in Spring 2018, where they held soccer clinics and donated materials like those listed above.  (See more on Futbol For Kids' trip to Peru here.)

It was a successful first event and we were more than ever excited for what was to come next for Artists For Impact.

We'd like to specially thank Jamie and everyone at MADE Art Studio who worked with us to make that night amazing and kindly sharing your space.
